Leo placed second in the Y10 Men’s Foil at the Virginia Beach NAC. Leo is a regular fixture at practice and trains hard every day. We’re happy to see all his hard work paying off. Salle Mauro
Salle Mauro Fencing Academy is the premier fencing club in Texas and one of the country’s top schools for young, competitive fencers.
We are dedicated to developing in every one of our students a commitment to personal excellence, strong character, and sportsmanship. Our training environment emphasizes individual technical skills, physical conditioning, mental discipline, teamwork, and most of all, the realization of each student’s potential. Led by head coach Mauro Hamza, the Salle Mauro coaching team is dedicated to the growth of lifelong skills for both the competitive and the recreational fencer. Our coaching team have proven their abilities time and time again by developing fencers to the world class level. At the same time, Salle Mauro fully supports the recreational fencer and we strive to provide an engaging and rewarding outlet for those interested in pursuing the sport in a relaxed manner.
Kids Fencing Classes
Our beginner youth class is designed for students ages 5 to 13, with little or no experience in fencing. It includes six 1 hour sessions during which students engage in conditioning exercises, footwork, drills and beginning fencing instruction.
Adult Fencing Classes
This class is geared toward adult fencers new to the sport, ages 14 and up. Here you'll hone fencing technique, basic tactical skills, while developing physical power and agility.
Club Membership
Highly specialized classes for advanced competitive fencers. Fencers here train for local and national competitions participating in rigorous training, drilling, and free fencing. These classes are overseen by the Salle's maestros.
Fencing Camp
Our Cavalier Camps are designed with the beginner in mind. Aimed at Kids age 5-12, we teach fencing in a fast-paced, fun environment. Games designed to increase conditioning, coordination, and quick thinking form a basis for our activities.
Michael Dudey won gold with the Junior Men’s Foil team in Moscow this past weekend at the 2012 Junior World Championships. This is the 3rd gold medal in a row for Team USA in this event and the entire team is eligible to fence again in next year’s championship if they make it back. Great [...]

6 of our youth fencers recently competed in the Challenge CEP tournament hosted by Marathon Foil in Paris. Led by Nicola Sirito’s 11th place finish, Amy Jia, Isabelle Jefferis, Jack and Leo Holmes, Mohamed Hamza, and Nicola traveled to Paris with Coach Mauro to compete in this prestigious youth tournament.
