2011
Graduating senior
and Salle Mauro foil fencer Elizabeth Rhodes has received her official
acceptance to the Cornell University Class of 2011. Elizabeth has been
fencing with Mauro since 2000 and next year will join the NCAA
Division I Women’s Fencing Program at Cornell coached by Iryna Dolgikh.
Other fine universities including Princeton, Duke, Northwestern, and
Haverford also recruited Elizabeth in the past year. While fencing
was an important part of her college application, Elizabeth had a good
academic record in many of the most difficult courses at St. John’s
where she goes to high school, made top tests scores, and served
hundred of hours in leadership and community service activities. With
hard work at the salle and at school, our fencers can fulfill their
dream to attend an Ivy League university. GO BIG RED and
congratulations to Elizabeth!
