Salle Mauro successfully completes its 8th Annual      Winter Camp>>>>

For the eighth year in a row Salle Mauro has run one of the most challenging three weapon winter training camps. The five day program drew fencers from around the nation with significant national and international experience. “I never fenced as many bouts in my life as I fenced this week” said Enzo Castellani. Enzo, an attendee from Dallas, was one of the several “A” fencers who just earned a bronze medal in the cadet world cup in Austria this fall.

The organized portion of the training camp began at 9 a.m. and ended at 3 p.m. with open fencing in the evening. The training day revolved included such activities as fitness conditioning, fencing games, drills, lessons, tactical training, watching world championships analyzed by one of our coaches, and individual and team bouting in various formats. The camp culminated with a fencing tournament on the last day. The camp emphasized the building of physical and mental endurance which will enable fencers to maintain their edge during a full day competition.

The coaching staff wishes all attendees the best of luck for the remainder of the 2005-2006 fencing season.
