WHEN: Begin Wednesday, June 4th at 9:00 AM and ending on Sunday June 8th at 3 PM.
WHO: The Training Camp is open for both beginner and advanced Youth fencers.
PROGRAM: · Daily training and individual instruction will be geared to help the fencer Strengthen fundamentals and tactical skills. · Extensive electrical bouting will take place each afternoon and coaches will provide feedback on technique and on-strip strategies. The director of the camp is coach Mauro Hamza. Mauro is a top international fencer who has made several finals in the North American Cup events and who has developed dozens of U.S National Champions. The captain of the 2000 and 2002 Men’s Foil National Team Champions, he was most recently named foil coach to the 2004 Egyptian Olympic Team. ADDITIONAL COACHING STAFF: Dan Gorman: Dan was Sectional Champion in 2002. He is currently the coach at Texas A&M and Salle mauro previously coached at Purdue between 1993-1995. Noura Younis: Junior Arab Champion, the Egyptian National champion, and AfricanChampion. Julia Pike: Long-time fencer and assistant coach at Salle Mauro, Julia Pike has been one of the Salle most successful women foilists. SALLE MAURO ACADEMY Summer CAMP 2008 REGISTRATION The fee for this camp is $425. Your application and a $200 nonrefundable deposit are due by May 4th, with the balance of $225 to be paid upon arrival to the camp. Late applications are accepted with $25 late fee, subject to availability. Lodging for students is available with local fencer families on a first come, first served basis.
